awesome...

....i want more. when i read that this track was unfinished i was expectig to hear a really rough recording, but the production on this is clear as a bell, i really cat fault the sound quality at all.
the melodys perfects, though mabey the main synth has a bit of a cliche sound, but i wouldn't want you ruin the track by changing it. the piano parts are aswesome, perfectly suited. the change of speed was great and well executed.
i cant really find anything to criticise here, really looking forward to the completed verion.

Haha I'm glad you liked it man :D

I'll send you a PM when I've completed it.

it was ok...

you had chosen some good synth sounds that worked well together. and the piece was well structured, the break downs and builds happened in the right places at the right time, ad were well executed.

but in general i felt that if it had't have been for the constant hi-hat i would not have been able to get a feel for the beat to this at all. i think the highter synth sound that first comes in at 0:58 just sounded like static, i couldn't really make out what it was doing.

though i think these are mabey just problems that could easily be fixed with a bit of level altering, and mabey some EQ.
sorry if this seems harsh, but thats just what i think.

i9incher responds:

thanks for the honesty mate. and I think I know what the beat problem is. see, when I compressed the bass it sorta had an after effect which is propally that little buzz you hear which sorta makes it sound delayed. it's not really a problem in computer speakers but it is more noticable if you have it over say a p.a or something. it was a good catch to, shows that you have an ear for things. if I re-edit this I will be sure to take that into consideration. and once again thanks for the review mate.

very good.

very good. this was a very well constructed piece.
The polyphony that you have going at the end was superb , i loved the way the parts weaved in and out of each other, though you may wanna go through that section again with a fine toothed comb as i think there is the occasional dissonance on some of the passing notes, but there nothing to serious to disrupt the flow.
wasn't really a fan of the military drums at aroud 0:15, they seemed to be a bit out of place with the sitar sound you had going. you may wanna reasearch into tabla rhythms and things like that.
over all though its a solid piece and i really enjoyed listening to it.

Thanks for the review!

That would actually be called counterpoints, but I won't douche out about it, lol. I'll have to check out those dissonances, thought they may be made by the quality of the instruments (bad, that is...)

For the drums, it was intended to be for added drama, but I'll think about changing them, as you're not the first person to point it out...

Thanks again for the review!

not bad,

the reggae style section sounded good, works well as a loop. the only thing id say is that the horn section seemed a little overpowering in comparisso to the backing track, and i think as a loop in a game or something it would become very annoying

it also felt very sequenced, and the instrument sounds were very midi based. a good tip is to look for a recording programme that you can import parts into, then when you have imported each part into there individualy eq the parts and use some subtle effects to help make them feel a bit more realistic.

I gues you ARE right, maybe they are a bit overpowering, especially near the end.

For the sequencing, I can't realy seehow it could possibly be, since I compose everything I make and don't even use a sequencing program... The reason why they sound so MIDI is for the same reasons, so I can't do much with the imported sounds!

Thanks anyways, glad you partially enjoyed!

Cheers

very good..

i really enjoyed this track
i loved the orchestral sounds, they fitted very well with the beats you used, im not usually a huge fan of hip hop but i really enjoyed this. i also ejoyed the little low-fi build up in the second verse.
my only problem was the little guitar riffs in the verses, musically they fitted, but i think that mabey if they had a different tone and if they were pehaps a bit quieter in the mix.
but apart from that it was a smashing track.

Thanks for the review.

likin it

really enjoyed this, (as well as your other tracks) the only thing i would say that lets it down is the crap fl midi (though that aint your fault). it would be great to hear these recorded with real guitars

epic as fuck

this is insane. love the drum sound at the start, reminds me of ramstein, the rest reminds me of drago force.

tis good

got a brilliant classic blues sound, i love the sound of the drums soud like there bein hit for 6.
only thing id say i thik that the guitar solo is sligtly overpowering to the other instrumentation, but apart from that it brilliant.

genius

i have images of some one playing tetris and straining one out with this music playing. just genius.
